Mike & Sally Townsend

During a trip to Eastern Uganda in 2019, Mike and Sally were so impacted by the challenges faced by the local people that they decided to do what they could to make a difference. Today Hanan Life Ministries International (HLMI) is a registered organisation and in the final stages of becoming a Foreign NGO in Uganda. Their dream is to see a community transformed through the love of Christ and empowered through practical training skills that can change lives for the better.

They are passionate about alleviating poverty in all its forms (spiritual, relational, material, and with creation). In 2022 Hanan purchased land in Nabikoote on which to outwork this vision. Our training centre is nearly completed and will be followed by several other projects that will serve the local community.

Together with an amazing local team on the ground they are committed to seeing an entire community at Nabikoote come to Christ and for the first time see hope and a future.

Hanan will consult with the community in Nabikoote to formulate projects that address the most important needs. Current projects include running a sewing school, youth program, weekly radio program, providing seeds and training for urban farming, liquid soap making and brick making, as well as providing employment for a local team of builders with the ongoing building program and running church services and an international online church stretching through Uganda and into Arab countries.

Paul & Doreen Wanyama

Paul and Doreen are our dynamic National on-ground leaders. Together they lead and inspire a ministry team of 22 committed and enthusiastic volunteers.

Paul is a pastor/evangelist and holds a teaching degree. He is passionate about seeing the vision and mission of Hanan come to pass. Paul is also a gifted project manager and has overseen and supervised all of the infrastructure works on the Hanan land. Paul is currently studying a Diploma of Ministry at Glad Tidings Bible College.

Doreen holds a degree in Business and Administration and oversees all of Hanan’s  skills training programmes and initiatives.  She has a passion to see people empowered through practical skills that have the potential to change lives.
